January 23, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Content delivery network Limelight Networks (llnw.com) announced on Monday that online video broadcaster Metacafe (metacafe.com) has selected Limelight Networks as its exclusive content delivery network.

Metacafe is the third largest video broadcasting site in the world in terms of global traffic and page views. Its global user community reviews videos upon submission, ranking them according to their appeal and entertainment value, and discarding those that are not interesting or compelling. 

Based on VideoRank technology, Metacafe uses proprietary algorithms to dynamically determine video ratings and site placement. Metacafe had more than 16 million visitors and served nearly 450 million videos in November 2006, according to comScore Networks. This month, metacafe.com showed an Alexa ranking of 134.
