Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

January 11, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Fat Jack Hosting (fatjackhosting.com) announced on Friday that it has acquired proxy hosting provider Host My Proxies (hostmyproxies.com) for an undisclosed amount.

A proxy server is a server that services the requests of its clients by forwarding them to other servers. Because proxy websites enable a browser to remain anonymous while viewing other sites, they are often frowned upon by hosting providers, says Fat Jack Hosting. However, the company says that this new acquisition will position the company to provide proxy websites with the same reliable hosting and support as its current clients, despite industry sentiment towards them.

"We are thrilled to be able to welcome proxy websites into our ever-expanding fold," says Nicole Silverstone, a spokesperson for Fat Jack Hosting. "We are constantly on the lookout for marketing methods that will gain us greater exposure. The acquisition of HostMyProxies.com grants us that exposure. We currently have never offered any proxy hosting, so the purchase of Host My Proxies will allow us to add this hosting niche to our lineup of products."

Fat Jack Hosting says other benefits with this acquisition include a modern Web 2.0 layout and design that will easily integrate with its billing software, a first-page ranking in Google for terms like "proxy host" and "proxy hosting," approximately 4,000 backlinks and the ability to cater to anonymous, transparent, non-transparent and reverse proxy servers as well as caching technologies.

Last month, Fat Jack Hosting acquired Web hosting provider NWAHosting.
