Equinix Hosts 7ticks Trading Network

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center operator Equinix (www.equinix.com) announced on Thursday that trading network 7ticks (www.7ticks.com) has launched a direct, network-neutral connection within the Equinix Frankfurt-North International Business Exchange data center between its US based network and the Eurex proximity location in Frankfurt, Germany.

The deal marks another high-profile customer win for the data center operator, which recently began hosting news corporation firm Dow Jones & Company's algorithmic and trading products in its Chicago-1 International Business Exchange data center.

Headquartered in Chicago, 7ticks provides managed proximity colocation services for Chicago's electronically traded products and exchanges, which includes electronic trading infrastructure design, procurement, installation and hosting services.

In addition to the Frankfurt location, the company has several other international locations in its plans for global expansion.

7ticks' presence at the FR2 center facilitates ultra-low latency services between the Eurex and other international exchanges.

Within the center, the Frankfurt presence enhances 7ticks' existing access to the Eurex VALUES API and Enhanced Broadcast Solution.

Additionally, 7ticks is now offering the new Eurex Enhanced Transaction Solution for lowest latency order routing.

"The expansion of 7ticks' services to Equinix's FR2 IBX center builds upon the successful partnership that the two companies have in the US, where 7ticks is deployed at Equinix's Chicago centers," says John Knuff, director of business development for Equinix. "7ticks offers a variety of services that furthers our goal of providing financial market participants at Equinix with access to the best of breed managed services providers."

Equinix provides global data center services for enterprises, content and financial companies and network service providers, helping them to protect and connect valuable information assets.
