(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Software developer CloudBerry Lab (www.cloudberrylab.com) has released CloudBerry Backup version 1.3.3, which now lets users backup their Windows Home Server data online to Amazon's Simple Storage Service (aws.amazon.com/s3), assuring small businesses and individuals of the security of their data.
According to its Tuesday announcement, CloudBerry Backup is now available as a Windows Home Server add-on that integrates with the WHS console and offers scheduled backup to cloud storage hosted on Amazon S3. CloudBerry Backup provides a powerful backup and restore option designed to leverage Amazon S3 reliable and secure online storage to make your disaster recovery plan simple, reliable, and affordable.
CloudBerry Backup now features full support for Windows Home Server Drive Extender, letting users seamlessly increase disk storage by adding new drives that do not appear as new drive letters, but simply as more available space.
Along with its new Windows Home Server capabilities, CloudBerry Backup has added Backup Window, a new scheduling feature that helps specify for how long backup jobs should run. For instance, you can postpone operations until the night time so that computer performance and network bandwidth in the day time is unaffected. There is also improved support for the operations involving Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service and several other usability enhancements and functional improvements.
CloudBerry Backup works on PC operating systems from Windows 2000 to Windows 7, and features a command line interface that lets partners and advanced users integrate backup and restore plans with other routines.
A single-user license for CloudBerry S3 Backup 1.3 costs $29.99, and volume discounts are available. CloudBerry Backup is also offered for free to students, educational institutions and non-profit organizations, however, users have to pay Amazon directly for their S3 charges.
Established in 2008, CloudBerry Lab offers solutions to help organizations adopt Cloud computing technologies. In May, it announced its free Cloudberry S3 Explorer, which simplifies the control of Amazon CloudFront logging, providing a comprehensive set of information including the object requested, the date and time of the request, the edge location serving the request, the client IP address, the referrer and the user agent.

In this particular case, however, we're looking at it through an extremely significant contextual lens. That is, for much of the last two years, hosting providers have been operating in a business climate defined by an economy in crisis.

Europe cuts an interesting figure in our coverage of the web hosting industry. From a purely news standpoint, it is very possible to treat Europe in more or less the same way that we treat North America - that is, report the facts, ask the right questions, try to anticipate the issues raised. Thats a good news. Cloud berry backup can be very much useful. People who are doing online business can take advantage of it. Whenever the loose their data they can make use of this software.
