Rackspace Connects to AboveNet
July 13, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Internet access provider AboveNet Communications UK (above.net) announced on Tuesday that it has signed a contract with Rackspace Managed Hosting (rackspace.com) for two diversely routed 1GB wavelengths and IP transit in excess of 100MB. The diversely routed 1 GB wavelengths will connect Rackspace from IX Europe's (ixeurope.com) London West facility in Heathrow to Telehouse (telehouse.com) in the Docklands. The wavelengths will be provided over AboveNet's new London DWDM network and provisioned across completely separate routes in order to enhance the redundancy, speed and quality of their existing network, the company said. Rackspace will also connect to the AboveNet global IP backbone via Gigabit-Ethernet connectivity.
