January 6, 2010 -- In its latest attempt to save the reputation of China's domains, the administrative agency responsible for China's Internet affairs, CNNIC, has announced an indefinite suspension all ".CN" registrations from overseas registrars.

The selection was the culmination of a public discussion of the .US domain that began in 1998 and was made after a comprehensive competitive evaluation process. NeuStar was awarded a four-year contract with two optional one-year renewals.
