February 3, 2012 — Data center operator Q9 Networks announced on Thursday it has been selected by NYSE Technologies, the commercial technology unit of NYSE Euronext, to host a secure financial transaction infrastructure access center. The agreement will extend the SFTI backbone into Q9′s Toronto data center, enabling Canadian customers to directly access services over the global capital markets network.

The acquisition is subject to the approval of authorities in India, according to the press release. NTT Com says the addition of Netmagic’s data center services and sites will expand its capability to provide cloud service to the Indian market.

January 19, 2012 — Colocation provider and Zayo Group business zColo announced on Wednesday it is opening a data center in downtown Chicago, located at 600 South Federal St. The move follows zColo’s recent acquisition of Las Vegas data center MarquisNet. The new downtown Chicago expands zColo’s nationwide reach, which includes sites in locations such as New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Nashville.
