Domain Registrar Afilias Acquires RegistryPRO from Hostway

January 17, 2012 — Domain registrar Afilias announced on Tuesday it has acquired .PRO TLD operator Registry Services from hosting provider Hostway. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed in the press release. With this acquisition, Afilias now supports 17 top-level domains, including seven generic TLDs operating under ICANN contracts and seven new TLDs launched since 2001.

Domain Registry Afilias Advises Firms Not to Delay dot Brand Application

December 2, 2011 — Afilias announced on Friday it is advising leading brands that the upcoming “dot Brand” application window will take place in some 40 days, and that they should not delay the application process. As previously announced, ICANN will began a 92-day application window on January 12, 2012 where businesses will finally be able to acquire and manage their own “dot Brand” Web extension.
