April 30, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — American Fiber Systems (americanfibersystems.com) (AFS), a provider of dark fiber metropolitan networks and transport services will acquire Marietta FiberNet (MFN.net), a fiber optic transport business based in Georgia, for $12.2 million in cash, the company said on Friday. Marietta FiberNet provides voice, data and Internet services to enterprises in the north metro Atlanta area. Its fiber optic network spans 450 route miles.
