February 6, 2012 — Data center operator Tulip Data Center Services, a subsidiary of Tulip Telecom, announced on Monday it has launched “Tulip Data City” data center in Bengaluru, India. The data center is considered the largest in Asia, according to the press release. The $185 million data center is a multi-tiered facility built to tier 4 and tier 3 standard, and is expected to save close to 35 MW power at full capacity.
January 25, 2012 — Japanese telecommunications provider NTT Communications announced on Wednesday that it has acquired a 74 percent stake in Indian data center services provider Netmagic Solutions. The acquisition is subject to the approval of authorities in India, according to the press release. NTT Com says the addition of Netmagic’s data center services and sites will expand its capability to provide cloud service to the Indian market.
