EU Presses for Spam Crackdown

April 8, 2004 — Europe’s battle against spam continued this month with the European Commission warning eight European Union member states that legal action could be taken against them. Belgium, Greece, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Luxembourg, Germany and Finland have still not implemented the EU’s two-year-old Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications, which includes a spam ban.
