May 22, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- VeriSign (verisign.com) announced yesterday that it has signed a deal to monitor the computer network of Merrill Lynch & Co. (ml.com) against outside attacks and viruses.
VeriSign said it believes the deal is the largest ever for managed security services.
No financial details were disclosed.
Under the agreement, VeriSign will monitor about 300 devices for Merrill Lynch from an operations center outside Chicago, Ben Golub, VeriSign's senior vice president of security services said.
VeriSign is a network security service provider based in Mountain View, California. Merril Lynch is one of the world?s largest investment banks.
