November 19, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Outsourced Internet service provider to ISPs and Web hosts Tucows Inc. (Tucows.com) announced on Monday that it has integrated GeoTrust?s QuickSSL, QuickSSL Premium and True BusinessID Wildcard solutions with its own OpenSRS platform.
The addition of the digital security services, says Tucows, represents the second phase in the company?s strategic agreement with GeoTrust to deliver secure e-commerce transactions, identity verification and trust authentication services through Tucows? network of more than 5,000 resellers. Tucows first began offering GeoTrust?s True BusinessID SSL certificate and identity product in July 2002.
"In the first phase of our partnership with GeoTrust, Tucows increased sales of digital certificates by 40 percent, and increased the number of resellers selling digital certificates by 42 percent," says Elliot Noss, president and chief executive officer, Tucows Inc. "Tucows, with the support of our international network of resellers, has quickly become one of GeoTrust's largest channel partners."
Tucows? resellers, says the company, now have a range of security products from which to choose: QuickSSL offers a one-step process for the delivery of a commercial-quality 128-bit SSL certificate; QuickSSL Premium offers the same process, along with the generation of a dynamically generated GeoTrust time and date stamp; and True BusinessID Wildcard uses one 128-bit SSL server certificate to secure multiple Web sites sharing the same server.
