May 19, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- The Planet (theplanet.com) announced on Wednesday that Ecom PPO.com (ecomppo.com) has expanded its contract, adding 20 more seats to its full-scale business continuance center at The Planet's Dallas facility. Ecom has held 50 seats for the last two years at the data center; the enhanced contract brings that number to 70.
Business continuance services provide mirrored working environments in the event of a disaster. As part of these services, the Planet provides Ecom with furnished office space, redundant power, network connectivity, security, and telephone and computer networks.
"This enhancement ensures that our growing workflow remains absolutely seamless if disaster strikes," says L. Cade Havard, chairman and CEO of Ecom.
The Planet's Business Continuance Center consists of 3,500 square feet of secure space and is backed up by both UPS and generator power, while more than ten Tier-One carriers provide redundant network connectivity. The facility also offers data center redundancies and a private internal network with firewall and domain controllers.
