March 30, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Tantus Networks (tantusnetworks.com) and eCreative Group (ecreativegroup.com) have acquired PowerSurge Technologies (powersurge.com), Iowa's largest shared Web hosting provider, and moved its headquarters from Waterloo, Iowa to Independence, Iowa, according to a report in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier. No financial terms were reported.
Tantus Networks is a Chicago-based wireless network consulting group. Independence, Iowa-based eCreative Group is an interactive marketing and Web hosting service provider.
Brian Lillie, president of PowerSurge said that he and three other partners now own the shared hosting assets of PowerSurge in additon to the company name. PowerSurge's Fastservers (fastservers.net) division will remain in Cedar Falls.
According to the report, Lillie, who was a vice president at PowerSurge and is a partner in the eCreative Group, and his partners offered to purchase the shared hosting division because PowerSurge wanted to focus on Fastservers, its dedicated hosting unit.
