October 7, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Outsourced enterprise application solution provider Surebridge Inc. (Surebridge.com) announced on Monday that it is working with footwear, apparel and accessories company PUMA AG (PUMA.com), to develop and host its marketing and e-commerce presence.

Surebridge says it has successfully completed enhancements to PUMA?s Internet storefront and the site is now live, enabling the company to support a significant increase of traffic to its online store.
"Traffic to PUMA's online store had increased exponentially. Business tripled in 2001, and PUMA was quickly outgrowing its current e-commerce system," says Peter Kim, international marketing manager for interactive business, PUMA AG. "We required a solution that would help us scale our operation without hiring more staff and incurring added costs, and at the same time, rev up our online store to handle the tremendous flow of traffic."
PUMA?s updated Web store is using a foundation of Microsoft?s Commerce Server 2000, says Surebridge, to offer 300 styles of shoes and 600 styles of apparel to approximately 200,000 visitors each month. Enhancements to the site include improved functionality, better performance and reduced maintenance requirements. Along with hosting the application, Surebridge says it is managing the Microsoft SQL Server database that stores information for the e-commerce site.
