April 5, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Network security firm Sophos (sophos.com) announced on Monday it has appointed Steve Munford its chief operating officer worldwide. In this newly established position, Munford will report to Sophos' co-founders and joint CEOs, Dr. Jan Hruska and Dr. Peter Lammer.
Munford will oversee Sophos' global operations, including leading and supporting Sophos' senior managers, future growth and product expansion. He will be based at Sophos' headquarters outside Oxford in the UK.
Munford joins Sophos from email security software ActiveState where he was president. When Sophos acquired ActiveState in 2003, Munford took the role of president of Sophos for North America. Munford has previously held senior management positions at Canadian PC manufacturer Seanix, and at Coopers & Lybrand.
