November 3, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Netscaler (netscaler.com), a provider of application delivery systems, announced on Tuesday that Chinese online media giant SINA Corporation has deployed its Netscaler 9000 series application delivery systems in order to optimize the performance and security of the Sina.com (sina.com) portal, one of the most heavily trafficked sites on the Internet.
Sina.com has more than 102.9 million registered users and more than 12 million active users. In partnership with the Chinese government, the portal provided live online coverage of the recent Olympic games in Athens, Greece. Large traffic spikes occurred after every Chinese gold medal won, including a 742 percent spike after Liu Xiang won the men's 110 meter hurdles.
"Millions of people in China were relying on Sina.com for the latest Olympic news and images from Athens and we wanted to guarantee that we could meet the demand," says Li Song Bo, vice president of engineering for Sina.com. "NetScaler exceeded our expectations in accelerating and securing our applications and content, even during peak hours, to provide a seamless user experience to millions of our customers."
According to Netscaler, the need for more efficient and secure application delivery led Sina.com to deploy Netscaler's systems.
China will be the United States and Russia together in the near future,if we don't friendly py attention to improve our markets,in all domains.China has very clear the concept of "human social networking",I mean resources obtained either by humans or by machines. But honestly I prefer the salubre competition,if you are better than the others you will win,and I am seeing this on my website http://www.rome-tours.org where I work as Rome private driver guide, and if you have nothing to explain about Rome you will lose and make lose time to the tourists.
