April 18, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Global IT utility provider SAVVIS Communications (savvis.com) announced on Monday it has collaborated with HP to provide end-to-end media workflow services for the Sundance Institute and Sundance Film Festival, an annual independent film festival.
SAVVIS' Digital Content Services provides an integrated set of services including content and digital rights management, live and on-demand streaming applications, transcoding services, content delivery and traffic management solutions. These tools allow the media and entertainment industry to provide flexible, cost-effective digital content to their customers. Since last year, the SAVVIS and HP services have played a significant role in the Sundance Institute.
Currently SAVVIS and HP are providing the Sundance Institute with broadband support for the Sundance Online Film Festival through SAVVIS' content submission and review portal combined with HP infrastructure services; SAVVIS CDN services' streaming media production, management and delivery; and hosting services for the Sundance Film Festival Web site (sundance.org).
