June 10, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Sage Research, Inc. (sageresearch.com) announced yesterday the results of the May 2003 Service Provider Confidence Index (SPCI). According to the new report, service providers? attitudes about current industry conditions and expectations for the future are largely unchanged from March 2003 SPCI levels.
?After a sharp rise overall in the SPCI from January to March of this year, service providers? attitudes have stabilized,? said Chris Neal, a Sage research director. ?This shows that service providers are not yet ready to embrace an imminent recovery of the industry, though their mood shouldn?t be characterized as having grown darker, either.?
Sage Research?s SPCI is a bi-monthly gauge that measures and analyzes the current mood of telecommunications service providers. This information informs companies who supply telcos about their customer?s present attitudes and future expectations of the industry.
Sage Research began compiling the SPCI in January 2002. Its research is based on responses from over 100 service provider professionals representing wireless operators, long distance carriers, ASPs and Web hosts.
Sage Research is a Massachusetts-based market research and analysis firm focused on the technology and service provider industries.
