September 8, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- The London Internet Exchange (linx.net), Europe's largest Internet exchange point, announced on Wednesday that it has added ReTN, its first Russian telecommunications and Internet service provider.
ReTN joins the 145 existing LINX members that exchange Internet traffic at eight switching facilities in London's Docklands. Members include ISPs and content delivery service providers from the US, Europe and the Far East.
"ReTN has been expanding its network and building traffic volumes rapidly over recent months," says Vanessa Evans, sales and marketing manager for LINX. "Membership of LINX is a logical strategic development that gives the company a massive expansion in its global connections and the ability to exchange traffic much more efficiently."
LINX membership gives ReTN access to more than 50 percent of world Internet routes, LINX said.
"Joining LINX is a further stage in ReTN's strategy to be an active and innovative company that provides high quality services at competitive prices across the full range of voice, data, Internet and other telecommunication services," says Olga Sherstneva of ReTN.
