February 11, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Colocation and advanced managed hosting provider RackMy.com (RackMy.com) said on Tuesday that it has acquired a new multi-million dollar, 10,000 square foot carrier class data center, from ClearBlue Technologies, in The Bandwidth Exchange Building in St. Louis.
The company says it experienced nearly 500 percent growth in 2002, and was rapidly outgrowing its primary data center facility.
The new facility is located on a dual-power grid, and includes redundant AC and DC power plants, parallel PowerWare UPS systems and A & B battery plants for DC power, redundant HVAC units and redundant diesel power generators in case of extended utility outages. The facility, says RackMy.com, was built with N+1 redundancy in all systems.
"This acquisition enables us to easily grow and accommodate clients at all levels," said RackMy.com President Brad Pittenger. "We plan to maintain a carrier-neutral co-location space with connections available from all major providers," said Pittenger. "We also plan to make available a managed network connection for our managed customers and colocation customers desiring to purchase a fully managed Internet solution from top-level Tier 1 providers using BGP4 routing protocols."
