November 17, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Qwest Communications (qwest.com) said
Friday it would purchase certain assets from 360networks Corporation to
help extend its nationwide high-speed data network.

As part of the agreement, Qwest will purchase several fiber network routes
from Vancouver-based 360networks, including Seattle to Billings, Mont.;
Billings, Mont. to Denver; Denver to Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Billings,
Mont. to Minneapolis.
The company also said it would purchase assets from Touch America allowing
Qwest to support hundreds of frame relay and asynchronous transfer mode
(ATM) customers.
The agreement is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2003, pending
bankruptcy court approval. Qwest said 360networks has committed to
supporting the transition of customers from Touch America to Qwest or
another provider.
