April 27, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- MCI (mci.com) announced on Tuesday that it has expanded and enhanced its managed security solution offerings with the introduction of intrusion protection, vulnerability scanning, an anti-virus/anti-spam offering, and new managed firewalls. MCI said its expanded portfolio of managed security services allows businesses to acquire all their security solutions from a single provider.

In conjunction with the announcement, MCI said that it has entered into a partnership with VeriSign (verisign.com) to deliver security solutions worldwide. Partnering with VeriSign adds VeriSign's Intelligence and Control Services to MCI's security services portfolio. The partnership will also produce co-branded authentication services, set for availability in May.
