April 19, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Juniper Networks (juniper.net) announced last Friday that it has completed its acquisition of Netscreen Technologies, in a deal agreed to in February. As a result, the trading of Netscreen common stock will be suspended.
The company also announced on Monday that under the terms of the transaction, reported to be worth $4 billion, former Netscreen chairman Frank Marshall has been appointed as a member of the Juniper Networks board of directors, replacing Vinod Kholsa.
"We're pleased to welcome Frank to the Juniper Networks board," said Scott Kriens, chairman and chief executive officer of Juniper Networks. "Frank brings a wealth of knowledge regarding networking and security solutions and we look forward to his contributions."
Marshall joined the board of directors of NetScreen in December 1997. He became chairman in November 2002.
I'm excited to be joining the Juniper Networks board," said Marshall. "Juniper Networks has shown its ability to execute in a fast changing environment and to diversify throughout the world in multiple market segments."
