The new Inktomi products are designed for the publishing, distribution, retrieval and management of rich content across global networks.

Through the acquisition of eScene Networks (escene.com) announced Tuesday, Inktomi is launching a solution for cataloging, managing and publishing enterprise-rich media content. Inktomi Media Publisher enables enterprises to organize, schedule, personalize and display rich media content through an online catalog of programs organized into customizable channels and categories. This product also incorporates features that allow for the creation, administration and instant archiving of live presentations.

Inktomi also announced a technology alliance with eRoom Technology Inc (eroom.com), which will give Inktomi Search Software customers access to collaborative content published within eRoom's Internet-based software through a single search query both in and outside the eRoom environment.

Along with the eRoom alliance, Inktomi announced a collaboration with Netegrity (netegrity.com). Through this alliance, Inktomi Search Software will be integrated with Netegrity SiteMinder, enabling Inktomi and Netegrity customers to centrally manage and control user identity, authentication and access across all protected applications on a site.

Further software developments include Inktomi Traffic Core, Inktomi Traffic Edge and Inktomi Traffic Controller, which make up Inktomi?s comprehensive content networking solution.
