January 28, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Global communications provider Infonet Services Corporation (Infonet.com) announced on Tuesday that it has been awarded a network services contract with European value-added distributor ACAL plc.
Infonet says it was selected to meet the needs of ACAL's rapidly-expanding business with a new network covering 24 sites in 11 countries, allowing the company to link a number of subsidiaries with a single solution. The network, says Infonet, will support ACAL's critical applications and the transfer of information to its European data centre.
"We are working with ACAL to introduce a range of network features vital to its global business, most importantly the prioritisation of business critical applications," said Bill Brogdon, Infonet's regional vice president, EMEA. "As ACAL's business continues to expand, Infonet will provide the opportunity to grow the existing network and adopt new technologies."
In addition to global communications solutions, Infonet says its network services will provide ACAL with the ability to extend its existing European data center to offer a global reach.
