October 15, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Hewlett-Packard (hp.com) and Microsoft (microsoft.com) announced on Thursday that they have achieved significant growth in their .NET initiative, with more than 1,000 projects in progress for 700 customers in 39 countries. The projects, which are driving more than $600 million in incremental revenue, have helped customers reduce costs, improve customer service, and generate new revenue opportunities, the companies said.

The .NET initiative, Microsoft's solution for Web services, was launched to help enterprises attain more value from their information technology investments. HP and Microsoft, as part of the initiative, have jointly invested in the development and delivery of solutions for specific vertical industries, including finance, manufacturing and telecommunications.
