April 11, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Computer services provider HP (HP.com) announced on Friday that it has been chosen by manufacturing giant The Procter & Gable Company, in principle, to fill a $3 billion, 10-year information technology contract, which the companies expect to finalize in mid-May.

HP Services will manage P&G's IT infrastructure, data center operations, desktop and end-user support, as well as provide network management and some applications development and maintenance, for P&G's global operations in 160 countries. Roughly 1,850 P&G employees from 50 countries will transition to HP Services.
