September 3, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Hurricane Electric (he.net) announced yesterday the addition of Internet exchange points in the Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago areas through a partnership with Equinix, Inc. (equinix.com)
The company said the newly added exchange points will expand its national presence and create redundancies to Hurricane Electric?s national network, while creating shorter packet routes to other networks.
"We are working on expanding our network everyday," said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric. "Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago are all major metropolitan areas which are fundamental in the expansion of our network. Our customers benefit from the new exchange points with additional capacity and more direct routes."
Hurricane Electric is offering full 100 Mbps Internet connections for $2,500 per month out of Equinix facilities in the three cities.
