October 12, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Domain name registrar and Web hosting provider Go Daddy Inc. (godaddy.com) announced on Monday that it had introduced Microsoft SQL Server support for its hosting customers using the Microsoft Windows platforms.
Combining advanced database engine with simplified database administration, says GoDaddy, Microsoft SQL Server includes such features as large-scale online transactional processing, data warehousing and e-commerce applications.
"The scalability of Microsoft SQL Server provides a perfect complement to our current Windows hosting environment," says Bob Parsons, president and founder of Go Daddy. "Adding Microsoft SQL Server support, in conjunction with ASP.NET and our recent hosting upgrades, creates a foundation on which customers can build a dynamic Web site with robust security and high-availability."
Available to Go Daddy's Windows Deluxe, Windows Premium and Windows Premium Plus customers, Microsoft SQL Server support hosting starts at $9.95 per month with 2GB of disk space and 100GB of monthly data transfer. Additionally, some select plans include 200 email accounts or more.
