August 11, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Domain registrar and Web hosting provider Go Daddy (godaddy.com) said on Thursday that it had been accredited by EURid (eurid.eu) to sell the .eu domain.
The company says it will begin accepting registrations on or before August 25, 2005 and then automatically submit registrations when EURid opens its sunrise period in October. During the sunrise period, only public bodies, trademark holders, and those possessing prior rights to a name may register a .eu domain.
"Customers the world over appreciate the savings, value and outstanding service Go Daddy offers, says Bob Parsons, founder and president of Go Daddy. "Now, members of the European Community can enjoy it with a top level domain of their own."
