August 9, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Technology service provider EDS (eds.com) and automotive aftermarket components designer Affinia Group (affiniagroup.com) announced on Monday that EDS will manage the company's IT infrastructure. The new, seven-year agreement focuses on standardizing and consolidating management of Affinia Group's enterprise application software.
EDS will help increase the scope of Affinia Group's enterprise resource planning application to support its expanding global operations. EDS will manage the application and host the midrange servers that house this application in its Service Management Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which will help optimize server scalability to accommodate Affinia's changing business needs.
EDS will also provide support for Affinia's communications networks and desktop hardware and software for all desktops throughout North America and Europe. Affinia Group IT employees in Canada, Poland, Mexico, United Kingdom and United States will be invited to transition to EDS.
"These EDS solutions will help improve stability and service levels and also increase Affinia Group's essential IT and business agility for quicker responses as needs change and expand," says Darl Davidson, vice president of United States manufacturing industry group for EDS.
