October 5, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Affinity Internet (affinity.com) announced on Tuesday that it has selected The Desi Geestman Foundation to receive its Extreme Web Site Makeover promotion. The non-profit charity organization is dedicated to assisting pediatric cancer patients and families pursuing treatment at the cancer treatment facility, City of Hope.
The Extreme Web Site Makeover is an Affinity philanthropic outreach program designed to reward a charitable and cause-based organization making a positive impact within the communities it serves. The company says it also hopes to draw awareness on the importance of an effective Web site and the role it plays as a vital communications tool in both the corporate and non-profit sectors.
As the winner, Affinity has completely renovated The Desi Geestman Foundation's Web site and is currently providing the non-profit with one free year of Web hosting, domain name registration, and Web site maintenance.
"Like our Making a Difference program, the Extreme Web Site Makeover demonstrates Affinity's commitment to helping small businesses and organizations that are making a positive impact," says Jim Collins, president of Affinity Internet. "Our goal in this effort is to not only reward an organization for their charitable work, but demonstrate the value a Web site can bring to non-profit organizations seeking greater visibility, effective fundraising and outreach to broader audiences."
