AFCOM distributed copies of the first installment of the series, entitled "Data Center Safety," to all the data center professionals attending the conference.
"The goal of the 'Smart Tools' initiative is to help busy data center professionals streamline their problem-solving processes by consolidating industry guidelines, standards, resource links, checklists and best practices into full-color, easy-to-use handbooks," says Jill Eckhaus, AFCOM president. The "Data Center Smart Tools" handbooks, available for free to AFCOM members in print and via the AFCOM Web site, will focus on specific issues and challenges facing data center management. Future installments will include topics on facilities management, vendor relations, best practices and more.
