December 19, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- IT services and Web hosting provider NaviSite (navisite.com) announced on Monday it has successfully certified its San Jose, California facility by completing a Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 Audit. The company's Andover, Massachusetts facility has also completed its fourth successful SAS 70 Type II Audit.
The SAS 70 Type II Audit, says NaviSite, was performed by a nationally recognized independent public accounting firm. The audit analyses a service organization's control over information technology and related processes and is often required by public companies for compliance requirements or other companies that want assurance that processes, procedures and general controls meet the industry's highest standards and practices.
The audit evaluates the systems and processes of a data center, including security monitoring, change management, problem management, backup and environmental controls and logical and physical access.
"By maintaining our commitment to a semi-annual audit program, we are able to accommodate the varying fiscal year-ends of our customers and further offset the high costs our customers are paying to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations," says Arthur Becker, CEO of NaviSite.
