December 15, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- TemplateMonster (templatemonster.com) announced earlier this week that it had begun developing skins for phpBB (phpbb.com), an open source bulletin board package based on the php scripting language that enables building of online forums.
The company, which specializes in Web site template development, says its forum templates are compatible with version 2.0 of phpBB. The company plans to develop one phpBB skin per week.
"We are always glad to support open source projects, especially those of them which are of great popularity thus adding additional value to them," says Gary Nichols, head of marketing at Template Monster. "We already have templates for the open source projects like PHP-Nuke and osCommerce. Now we enlarge our product database with skins for phpBB. We believe that not only our customers will benefit from this but the project itself."
Template Monster phpBB skins provide modern design with easy installation using the phpBB 2.0 system, the PSD file for graphic editing, fonts for editing the PSD file and approximately 30 unique icons.
