December 12, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center energy efficiency organization The Green Grid (thegreengrid.org) announced on Tuesday that it will hold its first annual Green Grid General Members Meeting at the Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco, February 6, 2008.
The meeting will immediately follow the two-day technical forum, which will be held February 5 and 6 at the same hotel. The technical forum is designed to further the organization's mission of advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing systems. The sessions will cover The Green Grid's metrics, as well as techniques for managing data center efficiency.
The sessions will also include discussions with leading industry policy-makers, according to the announcement. Green Grid members can register for the event online.
"We have developed The Green Grid Technical Forum to share and discuss our current research and findings and to bring the stakeholders of data center efficiency together to network, brainstorm and provide input on our technical roadmap and priorities," says Mark Monroe, a director of The Green Grid.
In November, the organization hosted its Plugfest event for independent hardware vendors, in Dupont, Washington. The testing event provided vendors a chance to evaluate their hardware against the PCI Express Active State Power Management specifications, which may lead to their hardware becoming more energy efficient.
