December 12, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center operator Equinix (equinix.com) announced on Monday that software vendor RTS Realtime Systems Group had moved into its Chicago Internet Business Exchange facility.
RTS provides electronic trading software for more than 3,000 customers worldwide. RTS will use Equinix Financial eXchange, a bundled service designed specifically for the financial trading industry. Equinix will also provide RTS with a solid disaster recovery infrastructure.
Equinix says that by moving into its Chicago data center, RTS will be able to enhance the speed and reliability of its services by connecting to the aggregation of network service providers housed within the facility. Reaching those partners within a single, centralized location rather than in multiple locations and across great distances enables RTS to streamline its connectivity infrastructure and enhance performance, the company says.
"Speed and performance are critical in our business, and our customers require the fastest possible connections to multiple global exchanges through our various product offerings, such as our hosted RTD Tango algorithmic trading solution," says Steffen Gemunden, deputy CEO of RTS. "Equinix and the company's Financial eXchange service provide us with the infrastructure, services and proximity to partners and customers that will allow us to greatly scale and expand our growing operations while maintaining the highest levels of performance and offering even more attractive service level agreements to our customers."
