Based on this Internap solution, SoftLayer will deliver hosting services to its customers using 10,000 servers installed in Internap's Seattle, Washington data center and over 30GB of Internap's provisioned, high-performance IP networking at SoftLayer's data center in Dallas, Texas and Internap's data center in Seattle.

SoftLayer says it makes utility computing broadly available to enterprise clients via a large scalable server architecture and "network-in-a-network" platform. The server architecture is designed to provide maximum power and space efficiency, while the network-in-a-network platform provides Internet bandwidth to support hosted applications and interconnectivity between data centers.

Internap announced last week it launched an enterprise-grade peer-to-peer access method for its world-class content delivery network.
