November 7, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Pegasus Web Technologies (pwebtech.com), parent company of FortressITX (fortressitx.com) recently celebrated its tenth year in the business.
The company was founded by Jay Silverglate in 1997 with two Sun SPARC servers in a data center on Long Island. Now, the company has doubled in growth nearly every year and currently supports almost 5,000 servers in its Clifton, New Jersey data center. Moving forward, the company has plans to expand its current facility to 75,000 square feet.
The company's growth has included the launch of two brands, DedicatedNOW and its flagship service, FortressITX. DedicatedNOW was launched in 2002 to offer competitively priced dedicated Web hosting. With the success of DedicatedNOW fueling company growth, FortressITX was launched to offer new products and services. Since the company's move to its facility in Clifton three years ago, it has increased its focus on managed and custom hosting services with the FortressITX brand.
"Our management is continually focused on emerging technologies and providing more robust and efficient ways for managing their IT infrastructure," says Jay Silverglate, founder and CEO of Pegasus Web Technologies. "We're now offering R1Soft's CDP, which stores point-in-time snap shots in disk-based storage. What this means is instead of rolling back data to a backup that is maybe twelve or twenty-four hours old, we can now roll back to the last client configured snapshot."
