November 6, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Server automation and virtualization provider SWsoft (swsoft.com) announced on Tuesday that it is about to sign a deal with China-based server manufacturer Inspur Group (inspur.com/english/index.shtml) where the company will offer SWsoft's OS virtualization technology as an option on both its Windows and Linux boxes.
SWsoft's CEO, Serguei Beloussov says that Inspur chose to work with SWsoft after studying several other virtualization software providers and decided on the Virginia-based software provider because of the lower total cost of ownership its technology offers as well as performance and scale. Beloussov also says that the rapidly growing server market in China, as compared to the declining one in the US, makes it an exciting company to partner with.
According to analyst firm CCID, the Chinese server market reached 510,000 units in 2006, of which Inspur shipped 60,300, ranking it fourth overall in the market behind HP with 110,300, Dell with 104,900 and IBM with 93,400. This also makes it the largest domestic manufacturer ahead of Lenovo, Dawning and PowerLeader.
Last month, REDPLAID Managed Hosting purchased Acronis True Image Server from SWsoft to deliver data backup and recovery services to its dedicated server hosting customers.
