October 3, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Telecommunications provider Verizon Business (verizonbusiness.com) announced on Tuesday that it has passed the SAS 70 Type II examination for its Remote Application Management Operations Centers. Through these centers, the company monitors and manages critical customer applications and communications infrastructures.
Third-party auditor Moss Adams performed the examination, closely reviewing and testing the control environment and corresponding internal controls for the managed services provided by Verizon Business. Specifically, Adams examined control objectives in the areas of organizational structure, governance and administration, physical and environmental controls, logical access controls and system availability and performance.
"We're all about helping our customers deliver on their IT objectives and completing this examination demonstrates that our efforts are backed by internal controls that meet high standards," says Michael Marcellin, VP of product marketing for Verizon Business. "Our embrace of strong internal controls and world-class services enables us to provide our enterprise customers with the reliability, efficiency and security that they need to meet their own IT mandates."
