September 21, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- IP networks, video and conferencing developer Telanetix (telanetix.com) announced on Wednesday that Hostway (hostway.com) has purchased Telanetix digital presence systems to connect its Vancouver, Canada operation center with its corporate headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
The digital presence system enables employees in separate locations to work together using advanced video conferencing environments in which users appear on four 50-inch plasma screens, in full size, and in higher quality than traditional video conferencing.
The system is developed using Telanetix codecs to deliver real-time video, audio and data over the clients' private networks, producing high definition images at 30 frames per second. Telanetix's says the system enables Hostway's management team in Chicago to interact with executives in its Vancouver facility.
"We have been looking for a life-like communication solution to connect our global operations," says John Martis, VP and division general manager for Hostway. "The Digital Presence System from Telanetix gives us a top quality video conferencing experience at a price that makes sense for us."
