September 20, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Certification authority and security provider GlobalSign (globalsign.com), and managed hosting provider Verio (verio.com), announced on Wednesday that Verio has joined the GlobalSign Partner Program, and will begin offering GlobalSign SSL products to its solution provider partners that buy and renew SSL certificates.
The partnership enables Verio to offer GlobalSign SSL products to its customers, as well as add GlobalSign's SSL certificates to its own Web infrastructure and servers. Some significant features of the GlobalSign SSL certificate itself include the option of using Domain Validation, Organization Validation or Extended Validation, the free inclusion of Server Gated Cryptography in every certificate, extensive warranties and recognition by all popular browsers, applications and mobile devices, says the company.
GlobalSign's SSL certificates will provide Verio customers and its solution providers with customizable certificate start and end dates, clickable site seals, the ability to include subject alternative names and wildcard characters to allow the securing of multiple servers and sites with a single certificate.
"GlobalSign brings 10 years of experience in the security sector, and the feature-set Verio is able to offer customers and its solution providers will immediately benefit end users," says Kiyoshi Maeda, president and CEO for Verio. "With GlobalSign, Verio will offer more options, increased security and attractive pricing to both our customers and our partners."
