September 20, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting and domain registrar Go Daddy (godaddy.com) announced on Wednesday it has signed National Football League player Chad Johnson as the company's new spokesman.
Johnson, who plays wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, has already filmed three new commercials for Go Daddy, which will air starting September 29 during Go Daddy-sponsored coverage of the Saturday night college football game on ESPN2.
"Chad Johnson is an exceptional fit for us. He's fun, he's fast and he's at the top of his game," says Go Daddy CEO and founder Bob Parsons. "If you watched the Monday Night Football debut, you know he's edgy… He is the right guy at the right time to talk directly to college football fans who use the Internet."
Since 2005, Go Daddy has established its brand identity in the football arena by achieving considerable marketing success with its first Super Bowl commercial. While Parsons has not yet confirmed whether he plans to advertise in the 2008 Super Bowl, Go Daddy has already spent millions for its sponsorships of ESPN2's Saturday night college football and IndyCar driver and Go Daddy Girl Danica Patrick.
