Betfair will initially use BladeLogic to automate the complex processes for building environments on its development and quality assurance servers, and the deployment of code across multiple platforms. In the past, both of these processes were done manually and required extensive staffing.

BladeLogic's automation capabilities enable Betfair to significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to service requests by the company's release team, enabling that team to work on other IT initiatives. Betfair will later expand its use of BladeLogic to include server auditing and compliance, change and configuration control and security and patch management.
