September 4, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center and managed IT service provider Consonus Technologies (consonus.com) announced on Thursday it has named Michael Bucheit and Robert McCarthy in the roles of executive vice president of corporate development and executive vice president of sales and marketing, respectively.
The company also announced that Will Shook, former head of sales and marketing, will be assuming the role of executive vice president of channel alliances.
The appointments follow May's hiring of James Edwards in the role of client solutions lead for Consonus's western region.
Consonus CEO Mike Shook says the company is constantly looking at the evolving demands of the technology industry, and exploring opportunities to better meet the needs of its customers and to grow as a company.
"Adding expertise from outside the company, and even the industry, to our executive management team will certainly help us do that," says Shook. "We are excited to welcome these accomplished individuals to our team."
Since its merger in January 2007, Consonus Technologies has strived to provide design, implementation, hosting and managing of high-availability data center solutions.
As the inaugural director of Consonus' corporate development efforts, Michael Bucheit will be in charge of collaborating with the company's management team in the creation, development and execution of a formal corporate merger and acquisition strategy, and will be actively involved in the company's efforts to raise capital.
Before joining Consonus, Bucheit led the launch of WR Hambrecht + Co's investment banking business in Canada as managing director of the company's technology group.
As EVP of sales and marketing, Robert McCarthy will lead the company in accelerating its efforts to drive key areas of business including hosting, bandwidth, maintenance, managed services and professional services. Prior to joining Consonus, McCarthy was the president and CEO of Internet protocol services provider Ring 9.
Former head of Consonus' sales and marketing and solutions consulting and delivery organizations, Will Shook will now be oversee the development of the company's channel partnering strategy, which will involve initiating new strategic alliances as well as improving relationships and cross-sell opportunities with Consonus' existing vendor partnerships. He has held many executive roles during his 18-year tenure with the company.
