August 29, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Host Color (hostcolor.com), which recently added osTicket support to three of its shared hosting plans, announced on Friday that it has launched its new website that now more accurately reflects the company's "new model of providing web hosting services."
The new site was unveiled at DrupalCon 2008 (szeged2008.drupalcon.org/) in Szeged, Hungary where Host Color participated as one of the sponsors.
Host Color says its new website outlines four service sections including web hosting, virtual private servers, dedicated servers and website services and the company provides support within a personal customer center called pZone, which integrates account management, customer care and technical support operations and "makes account management easier and more secure."
The company says it will be releasing additional value-added hosting services and products through pZone within the next few weeks.
In the company's most recent press release, Host Color's managing director also took the opportunity to discuss the company's thoughts and response to the overselling trend in the web hosting industry, which is seemingly unrelated to the website launch, but could arguably tie into how the company hopes to be perceived in light of its new online face.
"Web hosting is about people, not about gigabytes," says Alexander Avramov, Host Color's managing director. "There are thousands of web hosts - most of them very popular - who do nothing else but depreciate the web hosting business by promoting offerings that include hundreds of gigabytes of storage and data transfer they never provide. This is the worst way anyone can go in web hosting business, and the bad news for many companies is that they've gone too far."
He says Host Color's approach has been focused on persuading site owners to develop original and content-rich websites that consumers appreciate, and with regards to web hosting, Host Color has been promoting it as "a service that covers various fields of human activity as opposed to the idea that web hosting is simply a service that provides disk space and data transfer."
The WHIR has reported on quite a few instances of new website launches this past month. Last week FORTRUST launched a new website for its Denver data center. And earlier in August, Server Intellect and Network Solutions launched their new corporate websites.
