Located at 120 East Van Buren Street in Phoenix, the TIE platform provides one and 10 Gigabit Ethernet peering services. The Force10 C300 brings the reliability, network control and scalability Telx needs to serve participants who have growing traffic in that area.

Telx launched the TIE platform in June after seeing the significant demand for peering in the Phoenix market, making it the first public peering platform in the area.

The neutral peering platform further solidifies the company's position in the Phoenix and Southwest market expansion.

"Our TIE platform must be very high performing, easy to manage and give us what we need to support our participants in this growing market."

Telx is using the Force10 C300 to support up to 384 line-rate Gigabit or 64 line-rate 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports in a single chassis, enabling the company to deliver the speed and capacity it needs to meet the growing bandwidth demands of its customers.

In addition to the non-blocking density, Telx depends on the reliability of the C300, which ensures line-rate performance regardless of traffic conditions and brings predictability to the network.

Force10 C300's online monitoring and diagnostics tools enable Telx to troubleshoot the network without going offline, which cuts down on management costs.

The switch's configuration rollback prevents downtime caused by human error, while its MAC learning limits enable Telx to limit the number of MAC addresses per customer port to prevent unknown equipment from connecting to the network.

The Force10 Reliable Networking says its products power the three largest Internet exchanges in the world as well as the largest Internet exchange in Central Europe.

Telx has over a dozen colocation facilities in North America, including New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Miami, offering diverse global networks and exchange information in a secure and reliable environment.

The company is responsible for supporting the infrastructure needs and connectivity of 600 leading telecommunications carriers, ISPs, content providers and enterprises.

In May, Telx deployed Ciena's CN 4200 FlexSelect Advanced Series Platform in its Dallas and New York metro markets.
